Fidel is a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Environment and Technology in the Department of Architecture at UWE, Bristol. He is currently the Programme Leader of the MArch Architecture and also contributes to teaching and learning in the areas of theory, history and design practice of architecture at undergraduate, master and doctoral levels. He is interested in moving forward the critical agenda of an architectural pedagogy that offers the students the potential of becoming agents of their own progress and their communities. Fidel’s research focuses on philosophical approaches, mainly through phenomenology, to the relationship between spatiality, temporality and the architectural place, as well as on issues of collective memory, heritage conservation, cultural identity and perceptions of wellbeing.
